MANDATORY VACCINATIONS
At present, the state of Sri Lanka is requiring mandatory yellow fever vaccination only when the traveler is arriving from a country within the Yellow Fever Zone s/he visited within 7 days before arriving at Sri Lanka.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends vaccinations against the following diseases:
- measles
- epidemic parotitis aka mumps
- rubella aka German measles
- diphtheria and tetanus
- hepatitis Type A and B
- polio
- rabies
- typhus
- varicella aka chicken pox
Consult your doctor about the required vaccinations. Some vaccinations may take a certain period of time, some may require multiple shots.
An appropriately stacked first-aid kit prepared by your doctor should cover the basics. We also recommend a travel health insurance.
