Since 2014, electronic visa must be applied for in advance before visiting Sri Lanka. At present they cost US$ 30.00
Visa can be applied for via and are payable by credit card. Generally, it is possible to travel to Sri Lanka and apply for your visa in situ, but there have been delays in entering the country and costs are much higher.
Long term visa for a stay of more than 30 days must be applied for at the Sri Lankan Department of Immigration. See www.eta.gov.lk for more information.
